I want to block chartlet.net. Every time I open Firefox, the chartlet.net tab is displayed and I don't want it.
I cannot find a control that will let me block chartlet.net from loading every time I load firefox from cold. It doesn't happen when I open a new instance, only the first one.

Add-ons sometimes launch a page at startup when they are updated. But that should rarely happen otherwise. I wonder where that is set??
The Chartlet add-on is an Extension, so if you are looking to see whether you have it:
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions
Thanks jscher, that's where chartlet was, alright. I thought I'd looked everywhere! :-)
