i cannot get to a website from the address bar
I can type in the address to a website, but it will not go to the website no matter what I do. I can access a website through a search engine and get to it from the results, but that it is. I am also unable to pull up more than one tab from the address bar.

I think that would be "AVG Safe Search" extension installed by having AVG Free, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions for how to fix if you have the extension. Disabling will work, but it might become enabled.
