why silver light will not install under FF, ver# 8.0.1?

64bit hardware, ran before same machine, before restored to factory due to corruptions, vista 64 restored from IMAGE on factory portion on drive D. loads under INTERNET EXPLORER I hate that program. (and it runs).

error message: your operating system does not support 64bit version of silver-light w/o booting and starting IE. it installed and loads and runs there fore it is NOT the OS

You only seem to be having a 64 bit Silverlight version installed.
You need to install a 32 bit Silverlight version to use it in a 32 bit Firefox version.

I selected FF 8.0.1. thinking it was 64bit Browser is it not?

been using FF w/o any trouble, and prefer 64.

I loaded it on my new q/core 64 OS went to FF site downloaded 8.0.1 and silverlight works just fine

so where is the differences?

both machines HP 64 bits. 1)HP DV5 NOT WORKING with Vista dual core 2mhz AMD 2) HP DV9 WORKING with win7 quad core 2.5mhz. I7
