Hello!. I have this problem too. What I've done is

1. Firefox orange button>help>Troubleshooting Information 2. Under Application Basics, click Open Containing Folder 3. there will be prefs.js, user.js and sessionstore.js 4. Delete all 3 files 5. restart and done.

on firefox press Ctrl+alt+del to clear everything, choose everything and delete all.

Hope it helps!

pendekarlaut you are Gods gift. Mate I have spent 4 hours trying to resolve this problem trying every suggestion I could google and pick up off the firefox help pages to no avail. I tried reinstalling/system restore and countless fixes and non worked. I tried your solution and all back to normal now. Thank you again and have a good year as you deserve it. I cannot understand why Firefox doesnt just come up with this solution in the first place.. p.s I didnt use the ctrl alt delete as couldnt see the point in going to the task manager and closing programmes..
