When selecting bookmark folders, the folders open too quickly as I mouse over them (without clicking on them) and it is difficult to select the one I want.

Normally, to open a bookmarks folder, I mouse over it and select what I want.

The folders open automatically and instantly as I mouse over them. However, they open on top of the main bookmarks list so that I cannot continue down and select the bookmark (within the folder) that I want. The boomarks folders pop open as I mouse over the list, and I get "stuck with" an open folder I do not want. Then I have to start over again and try to quickly move the point directly to the folder I want.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

This can be caused by having some bookmarks with a long title in the main Bookmarks menu.

The width of a column in the Bookmarks menu list is in current Firefox versions automatically adjusted to fit the bookmark with the longest name.
You can check the names of the bookmarks and make the longer ones shorter.
