Since 2-18-2013, my Adobe Flash Player is neither appearing as being installed with FireFox19 ... NOR does it work on any website other than the Adobe "verify" page. I have: a. Removed Flash Player and rebooted c. Reinstalled Flash Player from download location; rebooted; restarted FireFox. d. Removed latest flash player (per "c" above); rebooted. e. Downloaded a older version of F/P, rebooted, restarted.

Bottom line: No Flash Player works. When I (somehow) navigated to the "about:plugins" there is NO Flash Player.

HELP ... I'm a senior and so frustrated now. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your Firefox application? Try installing it as an admin (if you are using Windows, right click then choose Run as Administrator). The same goes for Adobe Flash Player. You can download it from the official page here .

Let me know that fixes your problem.

Hello,
sorry you are frustrated with Firefox,

Flash Player is not going to show up on the Vista desktop as an Icon if that is what you expected ?

Not sure which verify page you tried but this is one that should work. So using Firefox (NOT Internet Explorer (IE) ) click on the blue link below

If you do have Flash Player installed as shown by the above then it is installed for Firefox and functioning

Note one method of navigating to about:plugins is to type that into the addressbar like an ordinary web address and hit return, or click the green arrowhead. Flash Player will show up there as Shockwave Flash I think.Similar info can be obtainedwith options to enableand disable using

The next question is what sites have you been trying to use with Flash Player that did not work, can you give a couple of examples ?
maybe something public like a news site ?

Additionaly as you will have Internet Explorer installed try the above tests with that see if that works ok. Note IE uses a different Flash Player software to Firefox and the Flash Player for IE needs to be installed and updated separately from the Flash Player version

P.S.

You do show some system information aside under More system details and although you did not include all TroubleShooting information it does in fact confirm you have installed Shockwave Flash 11.6 r602

Does not work. Have tried installing manually, then via firefox autoselecting update. It goes to the website, runs the installer and says it has been installed successfully, but nothing happens.

My problem is exactly the same as the first poster. No doubt if I started a new question there would be someone telling me "that questions already been asked". The point is those solutions and all the solutions suggested on firefox support aren't working for this problem. That this occurred only with the new version of firefox is indicative of a deeper problem specific to this build.

Hi again,

That this occurred only with the new version of firefox is indicative of a deeper problem specific to this build.

I do not think that is likely.

Flash is such a common plugin that if the problem affected all users on this version we would soon have discovered the issue.

This is a thread that has attracted only 11 me too votes over a month. The most likely error is something going wrong in the installation. You really would do better to follow my suggestion, AND that includes adding YOUR troubleshooting information.

Often problems with similar symptoms have different causes. For that reason guidelines suggest starting your own question

The only resolution I finally found was to completely remove and reinstall Firefox 19. I didn't enjoy having to reinstall and configure my various privacy add-ons, but at least Flash player is working.

My system is Vista x64. I still think there is something awry with Firefox19, Adobe and my OS. Oh well ...

Glad you fixed it, that is the important fact, and good news.

Reinstalling Firefox by the standard method rarely fixes anything. The reset feature would actually be more likely to fix things. Clean reinstalls do fix some rare problems.

All these solutions tend to work by returning Firefox to an original state, and rather than indicating a problem with Firefox itself they indicate a problem with changes that have occurred later on after the initial install.

I have seen at least one case recently where the Flash problem was attributed to multiple installs of Flash Player having occurred. I wonder if possibly that could have happened in your situation ?

Mine is slightly different but similar enough to yours. I had just used Firefox to update the Adobe Flash Player to the current version. However, when I check to see if the plugins are up to date, not only does it still show Adobe Flash needs to be updated, but when I click on the update button, it takes me to the Adobe website showing me I can download an outdated version than the 10.1.6 version that's listed on the plugin check page (the Adobe site shows 10.1.4)! I know I got the latest version installed, so why does this still show up when I check for updates for the plugins?
