Cache needs to be cleared constantly.
Yesterday, I bought a new Samsung Series 5 with Windows 8. I installed Mozilla Firefox 21.0, but started having a problem with it. Every 30 minutes or about 20 webpages, I have to clear the cache for a page to display properly, otherwise they will display with text to the left of the screen and with Times New Roman font.
- I have Avast! 8, but I do not think it is causing the problem. - I am 100% it is not a virus/malware. - I checked my plug-ins in Mozilla. None of them seem to be causing the problem. - It is a Mozilla Firefox only problem. (I am not having this problem in Chrome). - CTRL + F5 solves the problem, but I do not want to have to click that every single webpage I go to. - I have tried the Mozilla Firefox Reset. It did not fix the problem.

Apparently the "Samsung Support Center" software alters Firefox's cache in some strange way messing up page displays. Example thread:
Can you:
- Uninstall Support Center from Windows 8 (or find some way to disable it)
- Clear Firefox's cache using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
That's something I hadn't heard from before. I will uninstall Samsung Support Center, clear the cache, and try again and see if it continues to happen.
I am not very happy with Samsung. Their customer support is anything but. That being said, I have this issue, too. I'm not seeing the "Samsung Support Center" on the Windows 8 User Interface... does it go by a different name? And when you find it, how do you disable it? Also, simply clearing the Firefox cache does not solve the problem. Many thanks!
Hi pegpaw, with the classic "Samsung Support Center" problem, Firefox works normally for a while, and when pages are no longer styled correctly, a reload bypassing the cache (Ctrl+Shift+r) brings them back for a while.
If this does not match your experience, the problem may be caused by something else. Could you describe your symptoms in more detail?
Hi - thanks for your response.. there isn't much more to it than that -- other than when I'm on Firefox for some time, it will become apparent at a point that the pages aren't loading correctly (menus appearing on the left margin only, graphics not aligned... I have been going into Firefox/Options/Cached Web Content/Clear Now and that will restore the pages. But then the scenario repeats itself again after some use.
I did delete the "Samsung Support Center"; it's a little early yet to see if the problem recurs. It's a little disconcerting to have had to delete that utility, as I'm not exactly sure what it was used for? I'm relatively new to this laptop and Samsung, and am still learning about its ins-and-outs, as well as those of Windows 8.
I also was not familiar with the keystroke series you mention above. Thanks!
Thanks for the help, I am using a Samsung (8-months old) and I just went to add/remove and nixed the Support Center program, which I have never used. Overall the Series 9 is killer, but their customer support sucks, as someone else pointed out. I also just got locked out of the computer which did not recognize my password and I failed to make a recovery memory stick (not anymore), but this was a Win8 problem and not the Samsung (I think).
