Some tabs have the title of the article I'm reading, or enough information to tell me what website the tab represents, but many just say "New Tab". Some tabs have images (like the NBC peacock) and some do not. Help!

I am using the latest version of Firefox, and I have history turned off, and have the list of websites I've visited to be cleared when I exit Firefox.

None of these settings has been changed for the past year or two.

Thank you.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Yes, starting FF in safe mode makes the problem go away (!!)... but how do I tell which add-on is causing the problem (and how do I select which add-ons to start or temporarily disable) ?

FYI - I have a few add-ons, some of which defeat tracking cookies and pop-ups.

Thanks for your reply and your help.

you'd have to go to firefox/tools > addons > extensions where you could disable them one-by-one until you find out which one is causing it (a restart of the browser might be necessary after each step).
