Why does it take so long to access my email or any internet pages....ALSO, when I am in my email, I have to "refresh" each and every time I want to read an email in my INbox.

Sometimes I wait 5 min to connect to my email

You have three plug-ins that are known troublemakers - Conduit, MindSpark and My Web Search. Unless you have very specific uses for them, Google or look in the Search Box above for comments and removal advice.

This may not solve your particular problem but your Firefox will certainly run better.

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

wilbur 46 - Have you tried the more general suggestions above? You should post your problem separately with full details of your extensions and plug-ins. You'll then get systematic troubleshooting advice. You could try starting in Safe Mode - hold down the Shift Key as you double click on the Firefox icon. If that works better you should try to identify any culprit extensions by a process of elimination.

I have tried everything I know. There is some incompatibility, but it is beyond my range to figure out. I don't understand plug ins or extensions, and Windows help is a joke. I'm no computer whiz. That is why there are so many posts about this on every help forum The older versions of Firefox worked fine, then somewhere this glitch slipped in . Everyone I know using Firefox/ windows xp,7 has this problem. (Which is why my other computers run perfectly on 300mb versions of Linnux) Thanks for the reply, but this seems to be so common that I think it is up to Mozilla to figurte it out.
