When I send an email with Thunderbird the person who receives the email cannot open the PDF file, how do I fix this?

Are the attachments large? How can I send a large attachment? What may be causing this?
Configuration Options for Attachments
The problem is apparently at the receiving end. Not much you can do about this. You'd need to provide more details about the problem there assuming the recipient also uses Thunderbird.
