If you were writing an email for the first time and it was either manually or automaticalled saved as a Draft, then the 'Draft folder will appear in the Folder Pane containing the draft email.
It is a default folder - you do not delete default folders.
If you were part way through composing an email when you had to do something else, you can save the email as a draft. then later you can reopen the draft email, complete and send as normal.
You move to view any folder by selecting it in the left Folder Pane.
Nothing happens when I click on folder. I have restarted the computer and when I click on the icon the drafts folder comes up. I am using my phone to respond.
So you can see folders but clicking on them does nothing, it only shows 'Drafts' and restarting only opens showing the Drafts (this is expected as this was the last folder you were looking at before exiting TB)
Something may have gone wrong with the session store.
Make hidden files and folders visible: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
in Thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'show Folders' a new window opens showing your Profile folder.
Close Thunderbird now - this is important.
Locate and delete this file: session.json
The session.json file has the Default windows layout. This includes data on what tabs are open. A new one will be auto created.
Close window and restart Thunderbird.
