I keep on having FF crash on me and it seems to be affecting everything else on my pc.

FF will work for a couple of mins and then stop working and show "not responding" and cause everything to grind to a halt.

I have run scans, I have done the FF reset, I did have a dig at crash reports but they are not even being created.

I did a fresh install of FF and a uninstall and install of FF33 as well to give that a try and still I have issues.

Any ideas from any one?

thanks

What is your system and Firefox version?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

Possible Mal-Ware Scan For Macs {web link}

Windows; You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers, click it and select Submit.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

If you can't get Firefox to open, you will have to do this the hard way. Open the file browser / explorer on your computer. Enter this;

%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\submitted

Copy the last 5-7 Recent File Names in the folder, including the date and time created. Post all the information in the reply box below.

Those reports are no longer available.

And after this much time, you would be right about their value.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift (Mac Options) > key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

Then;

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.
