We use GoDaddy as our email host. Messages sent to AOL accounts deliver fine when sent via GoDaddy Webmail. But all messages sent to AOL addressed through Thunderbird bounce (after a day or two) with: [Return Code 451] sid: jpDh1q00b4jVwvW01 :: Sorry, I wasn’t able to establish an SMTP connection. I’m not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

Server Name is smtpout.secureserver.net going through Port 465 with Normal Password authentication and SSL/TLS.

Problem ONLY occurs with AOL addresses and ALWAYS occurs with those. GoDaddy offers no assist. Help!

My guess is that the godaddy server is on an AOL blacklist for sending SPAM. The don't use the same sending server for their web mail, so it will not be blacklisted.

Alternatively your account may not be configured correctly in DNS.

What is the Domain name your sending mail as?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about the dual servers or I'd have gotten further with this sooner. But, it turns out that it's just our IP that's blacklisted on one of the tools AOL uses. Off to the ISP to see what we can do about that. ...
