What i would like to have is a shared place to store email, something similar like local folder which is already there, but then accessible for multiple instances of Tbird. In this way i can move email to this shared folder on the network which can also be accessed by a user on another pc. I tried to point the location of the local maps on both pc to the same location but that does not seem to work. Is there a solution for this

What are you trying to do? Allow another user to have full access to your email account? or only allow a user to see 'selected' messages without having access to the mail account? Is your mail POP or IMAP?

I do not want to allow full access to my email. What i want is, place some email from my inbox in a new map, like the local map, which can also be accessed by another client. This map should be on a network share and should be accessible by the other user as well. Like offline folder in Outlook

TB allows you to "copy as..." to a folder outside of the TB folders.

If you create a new folder that is inside your 'shared folders' then this new folder should be included in the share.

Select the message(s) you wish to share, and 'Save as...' to that new folder. Now the other user can open the message in his own email client and read it.

New messages are not automatically placed into this folder. You have to manually add them. The other user CAN ALSO REPLY to the message, with or without your permission. And your mail account will have NO record of the reply. If you do not want him to be able to reply, you would have to convert the message into a text only format.

If you know how to use windows 'File Explorer' you can create a shortcut to the shared mail folder on your desktop. Adjust the size of TB so you can 'see' both the shortcut and the TB thread pane. Use your mouse to drag the selected message(s) from the thread pane to the shortcut. It will put a 'copy' of the message into your shared folder.
