All my text has gone slightly weird on my Desktop pc version of FireFox. The letter B for example looks like a musical note b flat would be written. All the text is slightly different sizes and maybe slightly italic.

Hi Georgeturbo , Please first check to make sure that the Text Encoding is not something other than "Auto Detect" in View > Text-Encoding > "Auto Detect"

Second check to make sure that there is not a strange font selected for these settings:

The other time I have seen this is with a particular website filter or Firewall, try to temporarily disable these to make sure that its not a proxy corruption in the page.
