How do I stop it downloading a duplicate copy of my emails back to 26th July every time I reboot?
I now have 2,800 unread emails, even though yesterday I had none. I have disabled my spam and my email virus checker but this has made no difference. Was there an update on 26th July which is conflicting with something?

What software is that? Thunderbird has a built-in spam filter.
What's your account type - POP or IMAP?
