Can't open email newsletter links directly in Chrome, the Chrome icon just wiggles. How can i fix this?

I have switched browsers. I use Chrome now. When clicking a link in a newsletter in Thunderbird the link does not open in Chrome, instead the Chrome icon just wiggles. When i used Firefox, the link would open in Firefox. How can i make Thunderbird open the link in Chrome?

Thunderbird opens links with the system's default browser. Ask in a Google forum how to make Chrome your default browser.
