Installed tab group add on weeks ago. No migration. Tabs gone. No back up created that I find. Are all my many Tab Groups lost? I thought this was to be seamles
Earlier I installed the Tab Groups add-on. I thought this would allow for complete migration of data--
"You don't need to wait for Firefox 45 to install this add-on. In fact, you shouldn't! Get it now, it works even in the current Firefox version, by replacing Firefox's Tab Groups mode with its own. You'll still have all your tabs and groups right there where you put them."
Didn't happen. And FF did not create a backup in my bookmarks. Need to look for Profile folder. I thought this program would be seamless. What didn't I do?

Please Immediately back up your Firefox profile.
If you have Firefox open, as you probably will have to read this message. (You could be reading this from an email I suppose) back up the profile now even without closing Firefox.
I have not used tabs groups for a while. I guess it makes use of the sessionstore files in your profile.
Do NOT try using any backup|restore options before you have backed up your profile. I worry if something has gone wrong, as appears to be the case then any backup this create will also be problematic.
In fact from the screenshot message I guess it will not have even tried to create a backup, because you had the addon installed prior to the upgrade.
Sorry I do not know much about this problem or procedure. However it seems likely that the sooner you backup your profile the less data will be lost.
I will add an escalate tag to this post
Unrelated I note you have two versions of Shockwave Director installed. It is quite possible you do not even need that as you have Flash Shockwave installed, but you should not have two versions installed. Duplicate versions of plugins do sometimes cause problems with Firefox.

I did save and restore my Profile. Thank you. I didn't know how to do that and now I do. Now if can learn how to restore my Tab Groups and their many tabs.
Also why with the installed recommended Tab add-on, didn't they migrate earlier? Was it bogus and so prevented FF from creating the backup file?
Sorry but I am not the best person to help, although I will again add a comment. I will not reply to your next post, because if my name is seen as a last response you are less likely to have anyone else answering.
I was aware that we were doing away with the tabs group as a part of Firefox. It started off as an addon. Probably was not too popular and has caused some issues with Firefox.

To be honest I could not remember if Tabs Groups piggy backed on the ordinary session store files or created some files of its own. I will leave it to someone who knows more to give you better advice but one suggestion I will make is create a new additional test profile. That will give you somewhere to experiment with restoring old sessions or whatever without endangering your current working profile.
- Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles
- Recovering important data from an old profile

You do appear to have checked for tab groups in amongst your bookmarks.
Did you manage to get the new Tabs Group addon working properly with tab groups setup before Firefox 45 ?
I thought it was automatic from the description, but apparently it wasn't. I read the notice about the Tab Groups feature being closed, and installed the Add on program at that time, earlier this month.
Then this morning all Tabs and Groups were gone.
No backup file as per the restoration instructions.
Just gone. If there is somewhere else I should look and information on what I'm looking for, please let me know. I am disappointed the Add On program didn't work. I see it was updated today too, perhaps something in that update negated information from earlier? Lost it?
Thanks so much for helping me with the Profile save and restore, John.

I don't have a Bookmarks Tab Group option in my Bookmarks.
