By EmeT do you mean Microsoft's "Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit"? I wonder how that got involved...
What exactly do you get when you try to start Firefox? Is there a specific error message, or just nothing? If you check the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) are any Firefox windows listed on the Applications tab, or any firefox.exe processes on the Processes tab?
What is your computer system and Firefox?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?

Yes Microsoft Ehanced Mitigation Experience... After attempting to start Firefox there are no instances of it in applications tab, or processes tab of task manager. The only thing I find is one instance of MozillaMaint in Services.

yup, won't start in safe mode, doesn't even bring up the option.
Just learned that there are other reports of same issue in corporation, so this is not isolated incident. Will follow up with software/desktop group to see if they have solution and will post here to close issue.
Have you tried rebooting the computer?

yes that was one of the first things I did. What I've since learned is that the same symptom is now being reported by multiple users. Apparently some fix was pushed down to us and it is preventing firefox from starting.
Thanks for the responses, I think we can close this one.
