I just installed Win 10 Upgrade and went looking for FF. During the install I had 4 steps to complete . One, click on the user agreement. So I did. Two, click on the user agreement. So I did. About that time I got a flood of junk showing up. I declined the third user agreement. But by now I'm awash in "Trojans, Virus's, and Pup's", i.e. malware. Unwanted Junk to be more specific. At the same time "Microsoft" wanted me to download a program to check for driver updates. So who knows, maybe that was the cause of the storm. Now I have junk on my computer I can't get rid of ( not yet! ). Was any of this Mozilla's fault? I'm writing from my XP machine. Live forever XP!

Where did you download Firefox for Windows from?

The desktop Firefox from www.mozilla.org and www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ do not come with any form of malware

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8/10 have antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

FireFox came from www.Mozilla.org and it was the first program I installed after I loaded Win 10. I didn't consider Edge until just now. I had to launch Edge to browse for FF. Correction, I thought I was launching IE. but I got Edge. Maybe that's the problem.
