When I remove the Exceptions on the second Permissions list (Warn you...install add-ons) and Save the Changes, why do they return on restarting Firefox?

When I select Preferences, Privacy & Security, go to the Permissions section there is a list of Exceptions to Warn you when websites try to install add-ons. I click on Exceptions and remove the 2 default websites and Save changes. The list of Exceptions is then empty. But when I quit Firefox and restart it, the 2 websites come back. I do not want any exceptions. How can I keep this exceptions list empty?

Yes, thank you! I think the Reset did it.

Keep in mind that Firefox adds some default exceptions.

Otherwise you wouldn't be able to install extensions without seeing a warning.

Those will likely be there in a new profile. There used to be special xpinstall.whitelist.add prefs to create these exceptions, but apparently Firefox uses a different method to add these default exceptions.

cor-el: I understand why Firefox would want to do this, but I want to be able to approve or reject every change made to the browser. Also, I want to know if a change to my browser was made by an evil website or by Mozilla/Firefox. I update my software every week and that is when Firefox can change the browser.

I have gotten 2 applications added to my browser and I have no idea which website did it, so I am a little wary of changes made without my knowledge.
