I have gone through all the fix it solutions and I've even deleted and re-downloaded Firefox but it is still crashing in the few times I actually get it to load. You mailed me and asked that I give the following information from my crash reports.

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I have already gone through the 'refresh' Firefox option and everything else you suggest to try to solve the problem myself. It is not fixing the problem.

I believe this has all happened because of Mozilla automatic updating. It is really rather annoying. Is it possible to reinstall an old version of Mozilla and I can then stop the updates.

I'm having to use google chrome at the moment which I really don't like. Is there another platform that you can recommend as this is causing me no end of problems and it is going to take forever to re-bookmark all my saved tabs etc.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Nothing has changed on my computer apart from an update from Mozilla. Thank you all for looking at this but I've given up. I have resolved the problem by now using another platform. I really can't work like this!

Thank you Annie
