I got this error box this morning and I can't access my new emails. Here is the whole: The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: [SYS/TEMP] Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information. [2018-08-01 13:12:54]

That is a message from the server - basically the server failed.

This message indicates to me that the standard e-mail servers for Comcast, that e-mail programs access are malfunctioning. You may find their webmail is working OK because it is using different servers that are working OK.
