GoDaddy emailed me that they are holding my emails until I update my email settings.
Got email from GoDaddy (with whom I am not familiar) yesterday asking me to verify my email info. I ignored since I don't know them. Today I got email from GoDaddy saying they are holding my emails until I verify my info. I did not get any emails yesterday or overnight or this morning. My boss who has the same email service as me, Thunderbird, said not to respond because he did not get these messages - thinks it might be a scam.

GoDaddy is a domain registrar, one of the largest in the world. It's very possible that your email is delivered through GoDaddy. It's a little difficult to confirm that without dipping into settings such as MX records and WHOIS.
Do you have access to your email through a webmail site (i.e., through your favorite web browser)? Then you can at least confirm that your email is landing in your mailbox normally.
And while you are on your mail site, look for the current IMAP settings page to check against your account settings in Thunderbird.
