Everything works on other device, but on this clean install of a Windows machine, I can't get to download any file from Google Drive. I've reinstalled Firefox, downgraded the version, deleted cookies multiple times, disabled all extensions, went into incognito, nothing works!

The page isn’t redirecting properly

An error occurred during a connection to doc-0g-70-docs.googleusercontent.com.

   This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

From network tab, FF is constantly doing these two requests:

Request URL:https://doc-0g-70-docs.googleusercontent.com/docs/securesc/xxx Request Method:GET Remote Address:[2a00:1450:400e:808::2001]:443 Status Code: 302 Version:HTTP/2

Request URL:https://docs.google.com/u/0/nonceSigner?nonce=6hl1trmj27fmu&continue=https://doc-0g-70-docs.googleusercontent.com/docs/securesc/xxx Request Method:GET Remote Address:[2a00:1450:400e:809::200e]:443 Status Code: 302 Version:HTTP/2

The problem went away by doing a clean install of Windows. Extremely strange.

I was having some (potentially related?) issues with my Windows activation. The device had a hardware activation key for Windows Home, but I had installed Windows Pro. When I did a clean install while connected to my organization's network, I've successfully activated Windows. And this time around, I didn't have any weird Firefox cookie issues.

Update: I also can't log in to multiple websites, that get me stuck in a redirect loop. Everything works on other browsers, starting Firefox with add-ons disabled in safe mode while allowing all cookies and trackers also does NOT work.

I recently had another user with a similar issue on the Google drive website where even Private Browsing mode didn't work.

This issue is in a lot of cases caused by a problem with the cookies.

Do you possibly have other (security) software that could be blocking cookies since you experience other login issues that look cookie related as well ?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.

  • rename/remove cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and when present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

This did not fix my solution.

I've installed Firefox after a clean install of Windows, so no software or firewalls or anything like that has been configured.

I've uninstalled Firefox, deleted all Mozilla folders under Appdata/Roaming, Appdata/Local and Appdata/LocalLow, and then reinstalled and the problem still occurs! Fresh Firefox install without any add-ons or anything like that.
