I can't send an important email with an attachment to a group of about 50 people as I get an error message about security problems. There is nothing untoward in the email or attachment and I have sent many in the past with no problem September 2020 being the last time Can anyone help ?

"Security problems" does not actually tell me or anyone anything useful. Perhaps you could share the message verbatim. I find most messages actually contain the reason within them.
I would hazard a guess your provider does not allow 50 recipients on emails, or your attachment is to large or of a prohibited type per your providers rules. But they are guesses.

I tried sending the email and attachment to myself a few days later and it sent ok so maybe it was a problem with Virgin my provider
