There is also the option to do a "forget about this site" via the history.

Also, you may have to delete the bookmark too, and resave the webpage/site.

after the above, double check the cookies and delete again if needed.

as a suggestion, before you re-visit the site after doing the above, go thru google.

sometimes going thru google to that website, instead of going directly to the site as most of us usually do, it helps straighten out the conflicts.

I've never seen the "forget" history option.

Doesn't matter how I go to the site...once I log in, the cookies are saved....which means I have to delete them if I want to log in again. What's really frustrating is that this just started....it's been working fine for years.

To invoke the "forget about this site" option, Open History.

Then right click on the page(s) for that site. The option above should pop up for you to execute.

There some other things you can try as well, like testing the issue via FireFox in Safemode and also creating a blank virgin profile to test that issue with the site. These are just suggestions to try out.

just wanted to update this problem. Right now, I cannot get into the specific site at all....even after deleting cookies. This is strange because it's a banking site....as I mentioned previously, it worked fine until about two weeks ago.

I spoke with the bank in question and they claim it's my computer and/or browser.

I have factory reset my computer, removed and reinstalled firefox. Yet something keeps me from signing on to the site.

Oddly enough, I am able to log in with internet explorer. I am also able to log in thru firefox android on my phone.

I tried logging in using my lap top. That worked a few days ago, but now it will not log in either.

At this juncture, I am ready to just dump the banking institution entirely.

FireFox private window mode is supposed to delete cookies after you close it.

See if using private mode for the site is more convenient for you than FF regular mode.

And if it is, then we have something new to ponder over.

Do you logout off this website because if you logout then the website should clear it cookies and session ID ?

Are there special sub domains involved as that might explain that cookies aren't removed ?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.
