Hello, Can anyone please explain, why did Firefox sell my saved passwords to Google ? Why are my saved logins and passwords appearing in my Google account, even though I never gave permission for this password sharing? This is a huge security breach, and I will never save a single password to firefox, since I did not want to share my passwords with any online service at all. Thank you for explaning.

Unlikely. We don't sell any passwords. We even don't know your passwords.

So did I click on something that sent password to my own google account? Some sharing function, is that even possible?

Have you signed into google? That would mean the login data would be saved in the Password Mnager. Is this what you are talking about?

There is also the form filler built into the browser.

I don't know anything about Google Chrome, but there's a possibility that they could "migrate" your passwords from Firefox without allowing. You have to ask Google about it, I'm sure their lawyers will respond.

Are you using a Primary Password as it is possible that other browser import your logins when you do not use the PP (Firefox can import GC passwords) ?

cor-el, I do not use primary password. I will try to use one from now on.

Hi wepet52517, I'm not sure what you mean by "saved logins and passwords appearing in my Google account". Maybe you're referring to the Google Chrome web browser? If so, it may have prompted you to import data from another browser installed on your computer when you first installed it. So far, that's my best guess.

Also, I want to clarify that even though some people here refer to Mozilla in the first person ("We..."), they are not Mozilla employees.
