Cookie exceptions keep disappearing upon closing firefox (8.0)
The problem I'm having is with cookie exceptions not saving. I've just updated to firefox 8.0 (desktop version), though I never tried to use the cookie exceptions function in previous versions. I have it set to delete my cookies when I close firefox. I've read that checking "delete cookies" in options -> privacy -> settings can override the other settings so I have it un-checked (everything else is currently checked). I've tried a variety of settings to no avail. Under options -> privacy I use custom settings, accepting all cookies and clearing the history when firefox closes - nothing else checked.
Essentially, the only site that I use frequently enough to be bothered by changing the settings is google. I hate the instant search feature and I also turn off filtering. In any case, I set it to "allow" under exceptions and after closing firefox the settings are cleared. This also goes for sites that I block.
I'm using windows xp, by the way. I don't have many add-ons that I use. The only semi-relevant add-ons are BetterPrivacy, for lso cookies and Adblock plus. Long ago I used TACO but I've had it disabled (though not installed).
long story short, I add a cookie exception (to block or allow), close firefox, open firefox, no exceptions.
Any help is much appreciated =)

Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.
