ok, I don't get this, I was literally watching something via windows media player on firefox, everything was perfectly fine, playing in good quality, had been doing so from the same site for weeks. I go to the next video, and, bam, suddenly firefox decided the WMP plugin doesn't exist.

no update, no change, nothing, I have re-installed repeatedly -and- tried changing the proper section in the about:config that everyone keeps suggesting, and installing again. Nothing has restored it to proper use(I changed that section back to avoid forgetting about it). I dont understand why in heck firefox decided to just delete a plugin container for no reason, and why it will not read it again.

I am using windows 7, and firefox 21.

There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.

You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).

You can alternatively move plugins from "<install directory>\plugins\" to "<install directory>\browser\plugins\" to make Firefox find them again.

Ok, this confuses me. As to cor-el I have attemped every, single, fix, available. I tried the about:config, that didnt work, I tried putting the plugin to both plugin and brower/plugin, nothing there. I tried moving ti to an entirely different directory and hand-installing the DLL in the add-on's section, again, nothing.

You know what fixed it?...I dont know but I sure would like to. Seriously, it just..started working again, I dont understand how or why, because all I did was shut off, and re-install the plugin or the 7th time in a row, and suddenly one time it worked and its worked since. I dont get it.

anyway the problem is solved but this still doesnt make sense, is there a debug file or something I should sent to you guys as to the error so someone can figure out why the thing broke between videos, then started working again for no reason.
