At times, I receive a notice from a site that Firefox needs an update. When I go to FIrefox, it says I am using the most recent version. What goes?
I am wondering if these sites are trying to get me to download Malware or viruses. If I go to the Firefox site and it says that I am using the most recent version, I believe what Mozilla is telling me and ask myself "why would a site tell me I need to update"? I only trust Mozilla and will not blindly download something without investigating. Am I being paranoid?

No its a scam what is the site link, mozilla doesnt use a site to ask you to update, it uses a automatic updater.

Thanks. You confirmed my suspicions, and I hope others do not fall for this. It usually happens with the site: 1Channel or PrimeWire.ag (This is the name for the new 1 Channel due to its being hijacked)
I was just on 123GreetingCards.com and I was typing out a card. Then I got interrupted saying that I needed to update Firefox right Now! But when I checked to see if I was up to date I was. So what was this? Did my computer just get a virus or Mal-ware on it? What should I do??
Hi genny58, sometimes this is generated by the site, for example, a bad ad. In that case, it's probably over. But if you see it frequently, please start a new question and include a list of your add-ons, because those will push and push on lots of different sites.
If needed, you can start a new question at the following link. Scroll down past the suggestions to continue with the form (I think it has 3 different screens). https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/fix-problems
