i would like to know if there is an add on OR if it is possible to filter out news articles i do not want to see. for example, any article with the kardashians i will never be interested to see.

can the browser block these articles on major news websites like the bbc?

can something like this be developed by the open source community or by me if i teach myself how to do it?

or is mozilla firefox set in stone and cannot be edited?

Are you talking about links on a web page, or the text on the page. If you go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page , you may find something that can help you.

Maybe try this one [Latte Content Filter ]

both.

actually, more text on a page.

For example, if I wanted to see the news on bbc website excluding articles that have kardashian in it for example, is that possible? so i could still see the main website, however block unnecessary and vulgar content I do not want to see!

I had a look at latte, it seems to block entire websites with keywords, i want a more fine version of this.

This one advertises that you can block granular words: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../|FoxReplace]

However for more general topics: you may want to look for add ons that block that kind of content.
