Note: Users on Windows 10 and above with an automatic update installed while Firefox is not running will see a Windows app notification (also known as a toast notification) if they haven’t opened Firefox in 28 days.

Update notifications are part of a Firefox study that collects information to help Mozilla make more informed decisions about future updates. They are designed to let you know when a brand-new Firefox version is available, even when Firefox is closed.
