My Firefox 30 does not play flash videos using adobe vs 14.0.0.145 which is the build for various browsers including IE. My IE works fine with V14.0.0.145.

It works with youtube, but not my model railroader site. I have added the website to the exceptions list and contacted their administrator. Their administrator says firefox must be blocking it.

I can play the video, but on my connection, it seems to pause and drop some frames every several seconds.

If you haven't already tried this:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

This might not be related, but some users have reported that the Epson E-Web Print extension causes some glitches with the user interface in Firefox 29-30. If you do not use that extension much, you might try disabling it for a time to see whether that affects anything.

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then you can disable individual extensions on the right side.

Are there any pages on the site that can be viewed without an account or login? If so, could you post a link to a sample page that doesn't play?

If you click the "Lego-like" icon in the address bar on that page, does it say that Flash is allowed or not allowed on the page?

Thanks. Here is a link that I don't think needs log in.

The lego block when clicked on says that adobe flash is enabled on mrr.trains.com
