I installed the latest TB version but Address Books did not import correctly.

What version will correctly import my Eudora 7.0.1.1.6 Address Books?

Thanks! Dexter

You can use "Tools" menu, select "Import...", and then individually import your mail, address books, or settings from Eudora.

How can I start all over and delete all the information I imported into TB version 42 because my address books are all messed up in TB?

What earlier version of TB will PROPERLY import my Address Books from Eudora 7.016?

Thanks! Dexter

Any Help would be appreciated! Thx! Dexter

Your here asking why your having trouble importing from a product that has been defunct for what 10 years? Quallcomm announced the end of Eudora paid in 2006!

This article suggests Version 17 http://kb.mozillazine.org/Importing_from_Eudora_%28Thunderbird%29

They also suggest this alternative to using the import wizard. _____________________________________________ The easiest solution is to use the automated import of the address books. However, you could also

  • Select Tools -> Address Books in the Eudora menu .
  • Chose File -> Save As .
  • Select CSV Files (*.csv) under File Type .
  • Type Contacts under File name .
  • Click Save .
  • Import it in Thunderbird using Tools -> Import -> Address Books -> Text Files.

This will not import the mailing lists , which are stored separately. _____________________________________________

I have heard is said Version 1 was about the last to work with Eudora but really I have no experience on the subject.

Old versions can be downloaded from the FTP site. http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/
