when viewing a mail I cannot open or see the attachments or and when trying to view them I get a windoiws thats is telling : this attachment seems to be emty, check with the sender . attachments can be removed by firwall or antivirus programs.

But when using ms-outlook on the same computer the attachments ( any ) or pictures show no problem showing. On a different computer using the same accounts and thunderbird this problem isn't there . Installation procedure has been the same.

I cannot find any solution for this on the webpages. I did set thunderbird to show all attachments and pictures.

why is this behaviour so different and what could be the solution ?

thanks

Please provide some info on a few things.

Are those messages with 'empty' attachments in the 'Inbox' or have they been moved or filtered to another folder?

If moved/filtered to another folder: test 1: right click on folder and select' Properties' click on 'Repair folder' button and click on OK. retry to open attachment.

test 2: Move email back to Inbox and retry to open attachment.

Please report back on results.

Right click on mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' Select ; 'Sychronisation & Storage' for the imap mail account

Is 'don't download messages larger than eg: 50kB' selected?

In 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced' > 'General' tab clickon 'Config Editor' button - it will tell you to be careful :)

in top search type : on_demand look for this line: mail.server.default.mime_parts_on_demand Is it set to 'true' or'false' ?
