Why is Adobe Shockwave Flash, despite being set as "always active" still not active on some websites ?
Within my Firefox 54.0 (64 bit) browser, I have the Adobe Shockwave Flash plug-in ( ver 26.0.0.131 ) installed, and the available option is set as "Always Active". The OS is Widows 10 "Creators Update".
Yet when visiting the web page ( http://www.outersecrets.com/real/biblecode2a.htm ), the multiple flash videos are NOT active, but instead they are either a blank dark grey, or a blank dark grey with a Lego icon, along with the words "Activate Adobe Flash" written directly below. See http://www.outersecrets.com/real/image/outersecrets01a.png
It was my assumption that Adobe Flash was an exception to the rule, and thus Firefox does not force everyone to have to manually activate it. To add to the confusion, the web page viewer sees a grey bar at the top of the page, however, it appears and then vanishes, and does long before you can read it. So overall, the "Activate Adobe Flash" plug-in option, seems to be totally useless.
Please help. Thanks.

I checked your link. I had no problem with the audio or video players.
See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

Of course the flash videos and the audios work. That is true.
The question at ahnd is ---
Why is it that when at the website, I have to manually activate the Adobe Flash videos, and do so despite the fact that the Shockwave Flash plug-in is set as "Always Activate" ?
Whether I set the Shockwave Flash plug-in option as, "Ask to Activate", or if I set it as, "Always Activate", the results are the same.
In either case, the Flash videos are NOT active, and remain NOT active unless I proceed to manually activate them.
Did you have to manually activate the Adobe Flash videos? If not, then what are our differences ?
In 2017, Firefox will require click-to-activate approval from users before a website activates the Flash plugin for any content. Websites that currently use Flash or Silverlight for video or games should plan on adopting HTML technologies as soon as possible. Firefox currently supports encrypted video playback using Adobe Primetime and Google Widevine as alternatives to plugin video.
I should quote where I got that https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2016/07/20/reducing-adobe-flash-usage-in-firefox/

Ok. Got your point. On other pages at the outersecrets web site, a light grey menu appears at the top of the screen and remains there as it asks the viewer if he/she wants to activate the Adobe Flash.
However, at the ( http://www.outersecrets.com/real/biblecode2a.htm ) web page in particular, the light grey menu appears only for a brief moment and thus the viewer is not given the time to read it, nor respond to it ???
All they could do was say, "What was that", and that's about it. ???
Help !

Ok, i am not running a virtual machine so not going to uncloak myself even for a religious site.
I also do not see a menu where you say there is so am afraid will have to wait till someone else views the site.
I will say though in general if a site has to ask you to turn it on it is not probably wise to do so.
Ok, old page, code for HTML 4.01 and has not been update since 2012. If go to the page then right click and look at page source code a bunch of flash movies listed and other pages It is very old java script he is using as refers to Netscape Navigator in the code.
How about if you have continuing issues on other sites let us know.

Ok, I guess it is discrimination against the elderly code when it comes to the today's computer programing world.
The Outersecrets website was written by someone who had no computer HTML or JAVA software knowledge at all. All the writer had ever seen was the BASIC and BASIC+ languages of the 70/ 80's. Thus programming became a "learn as you go" process. Also, due to lack of cash, it was written via the use of nothing but freeware programs and an outdated Intel 486 computer.
Oh Well.
