After updating Thunderbird, the window for reading email is locked at about 3 inches tall, and when I roll the cursor over the divider bar above it, which used to change the cursor to a resizing icon, allowing me to resize the viewing window, nothing happens. No more resizing function. Could anyone please help? Is this a bug? Can I go back to the previous version of TB, which was working fine? Right now I have only an inch and a half below the header to read my mail. Thank you!

It could be an incompatible add-on, in which case you could disable all of them and then enable them one-at-a-time until you find the one that makes the problem return (in normal mode).

Or, if as seems likely that you have a broken layout, launch in safe mode again, then check the box 'Reset toolbars and controls' and click 'Make changes and restart'.

Does the problem remain if you run in safe mode? Hold Shift when you launch TB.

Thank you, sfhowes, that helped! It works in safe mode  :) Do you know if there's a way to fix it, or should I just always launch in safe mode?
