How do I back up all bookmarks to a my computer or a flash drive?

I did the standard: "Show all Bookmarks" -- "Import and Backup" -- "Export Bookmarks to HTML". Which produced a file on my computer. The problem is that the file is an Opera Web Document and is 1,382 KB. It only took about 2 seconds to download. That seems WAY too small for well over 6,000 web addresses. How can I verify that the download is complete without restoring it to Firefox and taking a chance of loosing all my bookmarks if the file does not contain all 6,000+ URLs?

You can open this .html file in a Firefox tab to check if it contains all your bookmarks.

Windows shows a specific type belonging to the application that handles this file extension by default, so you probably have Opera set as the default browser.
