(1) I send e-mail with an attachment (2) I cancel it before it goes (3) The box pops up it is cancelled (4) It is NOT in my sent file (5) The recipient gets it
It seems this problem is only when there is an attachment. Otherwise I cancel the e-mail and it does not go. But with an attachment, it says it has been cancelled, and it does not show up in the sent file but it ends up with the recipient. Tried this on 2 separate thunderbird accounts and both experienced the identical problem. Is this a bug?

It may be related to one of these bugs, which appear to be caused by the inexact relation between what TB reports to the user and what is actually happening.
Okay, but has the bug been fixed or what do I do to solve the problem?
It doesn't appear the bug has been confirmed or resolved. You can file a new bug or comment on an existing one, but otherwise I'm not aware of any way to 'fix' it, other than to avoid being affected by it, i.e. don't send attachments unless you're sure you don't want to cancel.
