How do I get the tabs back below the bookmarks toolbar (where they SHOULD be) in Firefox Quantum?

I have just installed Quantum, and would like to move the tabs back beneath the bookmarks toolbar, as I think this is a much more logical location for them. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how? I'm using Windows 8.1/ 64 bit, if that matters.

Hi Tall42, in Firefox 57+ extensions cannot modify the toolbar order, but you can use a custom style rule in a userChrome.css file to do it.

Please look at the third example on the following page:

https://www.userchrome.org/what-is-userchrome-css.html

I also show it in the following video starting around 8:45

Drediock And if you are as unhappy as you come across, why not just use a different web browser that has the features that you want, and stop ranting about changes that happened 3 1/2 year ago.

No. I'd much rather you all pull your heads out of your asses because Im not the only one ratnting about those changes

I was one of the many unhappy users who wanted my tabs on the bottom and thanks to jscher2000 above, I now have them where I want them. He was also very helpful in changing the grey bookmark folders on my toolbar to yellow, a modest improvement over the grey but very welcome. Now if the developers were to do there programming with retrofit options using style sheets or embedded code, wouldn't this be better world?

The Tabs not on Top (when that was selected the Tabs went back to below the Navigation Toolbar as it was with Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions) was an option in the Firefox 4.0 (March 22, 2011 release date) thru Firefox 28 versions, but that option was removed for Australis Firefox 29 to "reduce maintenance costs". With Australis an extension was being used by people who wanted the "retro" appearance; but that extension wasn't compatible with the new WebExtensions format for Quantum in Firefox 57, so the original add-on developer let it "die" and posted the userChrome.css code to Github for past users of his CTR extension.

Now user need to resort to using userChrome.css for "Tabs on Bottom"; at least until Mozilla starts restricting the capabilities of userChrome - which I predict will happen in 2018.
