Very disappointed with Firefox Quantum. Restored back to an earlier version of Firefox

Every time I log I get asked twice if I want to upgrade to Quantum. Answer: 'No!' Can I uninstall [Add or remove Programs, Win 7, 32bit] Automatic Updater without screwing the rest of what's left of Firefox?

I have encountered no problems when using Firefox with the Mozilla Maintenance Service (the Updater 'feature') removed. But I never used the Uninstaller in Windows - I just delete the two "Update,exe" files in the Firefox program files folder.
