I use Trackpad writing mode to input Chinese character on the search input. After inputing the characters, one usuaully get out of the trackpad writing mode by pressing ESC. However, I found that Firefox is not responding to this. There is no easy way to get out of the Trackpad writing mode.

I am using a 2015 13 Macbook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.6. Let me know if you need additional information.
