No decoders for requested formats: application/vnd.apple.mpegurl". I disabled all of my add-ons/plugins and the video still doesn't play. what can I do? in chrome I can see the videos but I want to use firefox. Thank you in advance

the problem is still happening and the shield icon doesn't appear. any more ideas that might help me solve the problem?

Maybe try this :

3-bar menu => Options => General

Scroll down to "Digital Rights Management (DRM) Content"

Make sure that "Play DRM-controlled content" is checked.

Another thing to try :

3-bar menu => Add-ons => plugins

Make sure that "Shockwave Flash" is set to "Always Activate".

(assuming that you have Adobe Flash installed on your system)

The website requires one to log in. Have you contacted their support?

so far not, it's holiday now and its hard to get them. any chance I can solve the issue on my side?

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

If that is the only content type that is available then you may be out of luck with Firefox.

For this MIME type you may have to use another browser.

Well apparently the flash was disabled because in was vulnerable. so I updated it to the last version and activate it and the problem solved. thank you very much!

This is what you posted in that closed thread :

"Now, after I managed to see the videos I'm trying to set the following command in the web console in order to watch the video faster:

theVideo.playbackRate = 2

but I get the following error message:

"TypeError: theVideo is null[Learn More]"

and this is the link to the learn more: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Errors/Unexpected_type

so, any idea how to increase the playback rate of the video whilst watching it in firefox?

Thank you in advance "

....... and I'm back.

Fellow contributor jscher2000 told me in a private message :

" I don't think it's a question for Mozilla Support. The video plays. It just doesn't have a speed control, which is a feature controlled by the player (SWF file), not by the browser."

And I found this :

https://smallbusiness.chron.com/speed-up-video-playback-adobe-flash-player-78580.html

Does that help  ?
