Instead of 2018, I get the year 76 or -1 for the year. This occurs for mail, calendar, and tasks.

This occurs on Mac OS v10.14.1 and Thunderbird v60.3.0.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_Tips_:_Compacting_Folders Mentions If you notice a message has a date of 1969 that is due to it losing the Date: header in the message.

There is a bug report on this which has seen recent activity - scroll to bottom. Looks like a patch has been worked on and due to release in 60.4 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32216

In the meantime, do you notice a correct date if you enable the 'Received' column header ?

I deleted the Thunderbird application and library directory. In case it was an issue with corrupted folders. I also tried it with the Beta version to no avail. No change to the emails, calendar, or tasks.

Please test this in Thunderbird Safe Mode. 'Help' > 'Restart with Addons disabled'

Report back on results on what is seen in the opened email and 'Date' column header.

No change whatsoever (I only had Lightning as an addon).

I was trying to find out if Lightning was possibly the cause.

Could you test this with an earlier version of Thunderbird 52.9.1 Uninstall Thunderbird. Get download here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/52.9.1/mac/

Choose prefered language and then download the .dmg file and run to install.

Do you have any Anti-Virus product on your OS ? Is this an imap or pop mail account ?

Same issue. I don't. I believe all my accounts are IMAP, but even with local calendars I have the issue. Since even with the previous major version I have the issue which I didn't have before, I think it might be related to something with the Mac OS 10.14.1.

Is the computer mac calendar showing correct date and time ? Maybe User account settings are different from computer general date time locale regional settings. check the default locale settings.

How to check time etc in thunderbird. use the info at this link.

Checking your system time Tools > Developer Tools > error console clear entries using the bin icon the enter: Date() info mentions paste it in the field near the top of the JavaScript console: , but in my version it is actually at the bottom of the console.

then follow info on 'checking your time zone' The results may help you to identify what is going on.

This link discusses mac date time etc. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203413 https://www.macobserver.com/tips/quick-tip/how-to-fix-date-and-time-high-sierra-bug/
