If I want to search something which includes dot(.), firefox immediately recognize as url so i always failure to search it. So I still leave search window inside firefox. Is there anything temporarily disable this recognition and search it in url bar(awesomebar;megabar)? Is there hidden commands such as !nourl:blahblah?

Instead of putting a dot between four apostrophes, you could
prepend "?" to your search :

Or :

Put quotation marks around the string :

I always go for the "dot between four apostrophes" because it also makes a link unclickable, like here - when you quote this post, you'll see what I mean.

Hello roflsunriz,

You can put the dot ( . ) between four apostrophes, like e.g.:

youtube''.''com

Give it a try .....

Question mark is best I think - because it make me less type keyboard. The other method >Put quotation marks around the string is just complicated (more typing) so I'm not like it though - thanks again.

You're right - I should have mentioned that as first option, but forgot all about it because I use the "dot between apostrophes" for two reasons.

Would you be so kind as to mark the post that has the best solution for you as Chosen Solution ?

It's the "Solved the problem" button to the right of that post.

Ah, Eh, Yeah. I mentioned the reason at above already because to wait another, but you really wants that thing so I'll push that button.

I honestly thought that the "?" was the Chosen Solution for you ....

Don't mark my post because I asked you to, but only mark it because you think it is the best option !

If you'd rather wait to see if someone else will come up with a better answer, then just remove the Chosen Solution mark from my post by clicking on the "Undo" button to the right.

You can also initiate a search via the '@' symbol (you need to select a search engine).
