Thunderbird being overwhelmed by many dozens of identical emails.

Starting yesterday my email started receiving identical emails from WebMD that download 1 message at a time with no other email traffic. I normally get 30-40 emails daily (can't stop or change the political emails to junk) so to only get 1 every time I ask Thunderbird to download my mail, it gives me just the one from WebMD. Their reply address is "reply-fe8a16747261077a7c-58_HTML-32885111-7000612-104@messages.webmd.com". I have left a reply with them to ask them to check from their end on what is happening. In the meantime, I am not receiving any other email because as I click on Download Email, it says that it is loading "1 of 118" messages and the numbers never change and all I get is the same message from WebMD. Any thoughts on who/what is doing this and how to fix it ?

Wow, I just went into my Comcast account and in trying to connect with a real person I also came across all my emails still sitting on their server and I spotted the ONE that has been coming across at least 100 times since Saturday at 4:03 PM. My account got hung up on that one email and it kept sending that email and only that one every time I requested the system to deliver my email. It dawned on me at that time to try deletig that one message from the server. I did and before I could even hit all the keys to get back to my desktop email account, I had over 90 emails showing on my desktop mailbox. Presto, solvo !! My email is working again !! I killed the Gremlin !!!
