i can't scroll down on the privacy & security preferences so I can't reach the segment where I can delete cache/cookies. what do i do? turned off the Mac laptop and turned it back on. nothing. i HATE that there is no person to talk to over the phone!

I followed the instructions on the help site. Went to preferences. Went to Privacy and Security.

But when I try to scroll down to find the Delete Cache/Cookies (or whatever it says -- I don't know because I can't get to it!), my laptop scrolls down to Sync, the next category below Privacy & Security.

I turned off the Mac laptop and turned it back on. nothing. Help.

I'm sure I'm doing something incredibly stupid and it's a quick fix. If only there were a phone number to call . . .

Hi joanryan1, if you are swiping (using a gesture) on your laptop's trackpad for scrolling, could you try using the scrollbar at the right side of the Preference page instead? Sometimes the Mac will hide the scrollbar, which may make this difficult. There is a system setting for that: https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1225/10.14/mac/10.14 (see the "Show scroll bars" section)

Another technique you could try is using the tiny search box near the top of the Preferences page. For example, type cache to filter the entire Preferences page -- all panels -- to the sections that reference the cache.

Does that help at all?
