Hey,

since a few months now, firefox is bugging me. But I don't want to go Chrome, so please please help me.

I have a sync account with bookmarks etc saved. But since the last update, firefox randomly freezes and after terminating it, often re-opens with prompt to create new User profile or exit. "New User Profile" clicked then means, that it is a blank browser, I have to sign in (it remembers the bookmarks), but all browser settings, add-ons etc need to be re-set.

Now, it is up to several times a day like this and I don't get, why. Anybody got an idea?

Cheers.

P.S. here my browser specifics: in troubleshooting data

Any specific reasons you this outdated Firefox 60.2.1esr version ?

Could you please update to the current Firefox 81.0.1 release or or 78.3.1 ESR release if you prefer ESR.

I notice you have a user.js file in this profile.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
