Firefox no longer working on some websites
The past week I have not been able to access websites that I was able to access. These are websites that I regularly visit. All of a sudden, website does not load and I get an error message that Firefox is blocking the website. I have tried to correct by adding to safe list and this does not work either. This is becoming a very serious issue as I am leaning toward finding another brower that I do not keep having these issue with. Then, I try to contact Firefox and I get the run-around to multiple locations and this is what I get for answers??? Bad service.

Can you paste here the website address and exact error message?
Website locks up and/or says Firefox cannot access website. Firefox locks up on a daily basis and I have to stop everything and restart my pc.
Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What is/are the exact error message(s) ?
Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?
Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
- Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
- Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}
Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
This is part of the problem. My settings are set to automatically install latest version of Firefox; however, most often, the Firefox brower locks up (2-3 times a day); again, I have to stop what I am doing and restart my pc. The brower does not update every day; more like ever week or 2; however, the issues are daily. I just cannot continue to have these same issues day after day. I work online and this issue creates too many challenges for me to deal with when I am trying to get my work done. Either you figure out what is going on with the Firefox updates (because its on your end, not mine), or I will find another provider. I have noticed these issues with Firefox over the past year.
Have you already set Firefox to notify you when updates are available but let you choose when to install them? That setting is on the Settings page and lets you snooze updates for a few hours or a few days as needed.
Did you test in Firefox's Troubleshoot Mode? In that mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is running:
You can restart Firefox in Safe/Troubleshoot Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > Help > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
- (menu bar) Help menu > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
and OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button (before Fx88: "Start in Safe Mode" button).
If Firefox is not running:
Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.) A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button (before Fx88: "Start in Safe Mode" button).
Note: Don't use the Refresh without first reviewing this article to understand what will be deleted: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
Any improvement?
